How can that be: Surf in São Paulo? Well, I am talking about the Surf Music festival held at SESC Pompéia in the last weekend.
It was a 3 day event with 3 bands each day. Anyhow, I only got to see La puña, Gasolines and Eddie. Gasolines were very interesting: They had a crazy girl singing 3 songs. She was wearing a blond and big wig and an awesome look. Actually she made the night cool.
Lapuña mixed northen rythms with surf riffs. Well, it was ok. Ju said it was the festival’s best band.
Finally Eddie started slowly with reggae/dub rythms mixed with the incredible Recife/Olinda vibe. Thought a lot about SCNZ during their concert.
Next highlight of the weekend was the powerful play A Serpente written by the dramatic Nelson Rodrigues.
I got to say that just before the play started I was very excited to see for the first time a play by Nelson and all that I expected were there: adultery, murders, suicide and conflicts – all of them, lots of them every word spoken by a character conflicted with the previous word said.
What else happened? Rode some of my bike, but never even close from what I should have ridden. Got some work done at the office.. well, that’s it for now.
